Is Pump.fun legit?
Pump.fun itself is a real, widely used Solana platform. But anyone can launch a coin on it, so many of the coins are extremely risky, and some are made to dump on buyers. The platform being real doesn’t make any coin on it safe.
Warning signs before you buy
- A few wallets hold a large share of the supply.
- The creator wallet has launched and dumped coins before.
- The coin copies the name of a famous person or brand.
- Social links are missing, brand new or full of bots.
- The price shoots up in minutes with no clear reason.
Protect yourself
- Use a separate wallet that holds only what you can afford to lose.
- Never share your seed phrase. No real site or support agent will ever ask for it.
- Check the URL before connecting a wallet. Fake Pump.fun sites exist.
- Set a slippage limit and decide in advance when you’ll sell.
